If you discover anything unusual, such as lumps, discharge from the nipple or dimpling or puckering of the skin, you should see your doctor at once. Remember, eight out of 10 biopsied breast lumps are not cancer.

U.S. News and World Report Ranks Missouri Baptist Medical Center #2 in St. Louis and #3 in Missouri

For the ninth consecutive year, U.S. News and World Report has ranked Missouri Baptist Medical Center #2 in St. Louis and for the sixth consecutive year #3 in Missouri.

The annual Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, now in their 33rd year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive quality care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.

“We are grateful to be recognized as one of the top hospitals in St. Louis and the region,” said John Antes, President, Missouri Baptist Medical Center. “It is a reflection of the incredible care and dedication our team members deliver to our patients and our community, every day.”

In addition to the overall ranking, U.S. News ranks clinical specialties and rates common care procedures and conditions. MoBap was recognized as “high performing” in the following three specialties:

The annual Procedures & Conditions ratings are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.

For the 2022-2023 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions. State and metro area rankings reflect the highest performing hospitals in the area across multiple areas of care. In the State of Missouri, the Department of Health & Senior Services lists 161 licensed hospitals in the State and 19 for St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles, and Franklin Counties (number excludes children’s hospitals, behavioral health centers, and inpatient rehab).

U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance using a variety of measures such as survival rates, complication rates, patient experience and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals methodology factors in data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, American Hospital Association, professional organizations and medical specialists.
